Sam Radin

Sam Radin, President

Mr. Radin is the founder of National Madison Group, Inc., a nationally recognized firm that provides life insurance planning services to high net worth individuals and businesses. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of National Financial Partners, a New York Stock Exchange company with its headquarters in New York City and its operations center in Austin, Texas. NFP is the nation’s largest independent distributor of insurance products. Mr. Radin is Chairman Emeritus of the NFP Advisory Council. Mr. Radin is known as an expert in the sophisticated use and design of life insurance products. A unique aspect of his practice is planning for writers and other creative professionals, including the disposition of their copyright catalogues. With more than thirty years of experience in personal, business, estate and gift tax planning, Mr. Radin has served as a member of various bar association tax committees, and is a frequent speaker to accountants, attorneys, and financial planning professionals. He has been cited on the topic of estate taxation in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Forbes, and has appeared as a guest commentator on PBS-TV’s “Nightly Business Report.” A member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriters (AALU), he is the author of numerous articles, including “Split Dollar Life Insurance Still Effective After TAM 9604001” in the Journal of Taxation of Employee Benefits, which correctly anticipated the treatment Internal Revenue Service’s recent split-dollar regulations. Mr. Radin is a contributing author of Executive Compensation Answer Book (Panel Publishers, New York, 1998) and the co-editor and contributing author of Estate and Retirement Planning Answer Book, Second Ed. (Panel Publishers, New York, 1999). Mr. Radin is listed in Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in America. Mr. Radin is known internationally as an expert on the writer Evelyn Waugh. A bibliophile, he is Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas, the leading repository for papers of twentieth century British and American authors. Mr. Radin has also been an adjunct professor at New York University since the fall of 2007.

Dan Munroe

Daniel J. Munroe, JD, CLU

Mr. Munroe is head of our Connecticut office, providing sophisticated insurance and planning strategies to high net worth individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations throughout the greater New England area. Previously, he served as the head of product development for AXA Equitable. Beyond his extensive product knowledge, he brings significant experience in providing solutions for both private clients and corporations. His areas of speciality include estate planning, trust structuring, business valuations and the taxation of retirement plan distributions. Mr. Munroe formerly practiced law as a clerk on the Virginia Court of Appeals, the City of Richmond District Attorney’s Office and the Virginia Attorney General’s office. He has also assumed roles as assistant general counsel and head of estate and business planning divisions at various life insurance carriers. Mr. Munroe frequently publishes on advanced planning topics in both local and national periodicals such as Connecticut Lawyer Magazine, Connecticut CPA Journal, The Hartford Business Journal, National Underwriter and frequently appears as a commentator for Connecticut Fox News. He serves as a member of various Connecticut Bar Association committees and is a frequent speaker to accountants, attorneys and financial planning professionals. He also serves on the Boards for the Connecticut Center for School Change and the Village for Families and Children.

Mr. Blitstein has been an investment banker for 20 years, representing publicly held companies as well as family-owned businesses. As the founder of Blitstein LLC, Mr. Blitstein’s relationship with National Madison brings significant dimension and expertise to the area of corporate finance. Prior to establishing his own financial advisory firm which focuses on mergers, acquisitions and capital raises, he served as Managing Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at First Albany Capital, where he was responsible for new business efforts in the industrial growth sector. Mr. Blitstein was also Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Safeguard Scientifics where he was responsible for raising over $600 million in both the public and private markets, establishing institutional awareness of the firm and overseeing the financial reporting for over 200 portfolio companies. Prior to Safeguard Scientifics, Mr. Blitstein spent more than thirteen years at PaineWebber Incorporated, serving in the positions of Managing Director of Equity Derivatives Sales and Trading, Managing Director/Head of Reengineering, Executive Assistant to the Chairman, and First Vice President/Mergers and Acquisitions. While at PaineWebber, he was responsible for strategy, proprietary investments, and the negotiation/integration of the Kidder Peabody Incorporated acquisition and was an active member of the firm’s capital commitment committees. Mr. Blitstein’s knowledge of corporate finance — including strategic planning, overseeing critical financial issues, acting in a Chief Financial Officer role to help facilitate coherent analysis of a company’s financial performance, and handling negotiating, structuring, and executing mergers and acquisitions — allows National Madison to better serve their clients’ interests.

Ms. Crawford is among an elite group of advanced field underwriters specializing in the acquisition of life insurance for ultra high-net-worth individuals. With more than fifteen years experience, her areas of expertise include complicated medical underwriting, reinsurance coordination and carrier negotiation. A frequent speaker at conferences and underwriting study groups, Ms. Crawford’s knowledge and expertise in the field of life insurance underwriting large and difficult risks is unique in the industry. Ms. Crawford has successfully led the underwriting of more than $5 billion of individual life insurance for National Madison’s clients. Ms. Crawford is a member of the Association of Home Office Underwriting (AHOU) and is a level 2 designee of the Academy of Life Underwriting (ALU).

Alex Kim, Director, Case Design

Mr. Kim brings extensive life insurance service and legal experience in the area of case design. Prior to joining National Madison’s staff in 2003, he served as Director for Advanced Sales and Marketing at New England Financial where he produced marketing and strategic plans in the areas of COLI, executive benefits, estate and retirement planning, and individual investments. Mr. Kim has also worked as an asset management analyst for Prudential Insurance Company of America and as an associate in the investment and funding department of Korea First Bank.

Krista Manzoeillo, Director, Client Services

Krista Manzoeillo, Director, Client Services

Ms. Manzoeillo has over a decade of experience in the insurance industry. She began her career working for a New York City-based employee benefits consulting firm. As a relationship manager for that firm, she was responsible for conducting benefits pricing analysis, conducting open enrollment meetings, implementing benefit programs and providing continuing benefits support for more than 80 corporate clients. At National Madison, Ms. Manzoeillo oversees all post issue service matters for our clients and their advisors, such as managing the preparation of annual insurance reviews, generating quarterly reports and overseeing the completion of policy changes as needed between the client and insurance carrier. Ms. Manzoeillo is also responsible for all agent contracting and compliance requirements for the firm. She holds a producer license to act as a Life Broker with the New York State Department of Financial Services. She is also a licensed Notary Public with the State of New York.

Andrea McDaniel, Director, Firm Development

Andrea McDaniel, Director, Firm Development & Philanthropic Services

Ms. McDaniel joined National Madison in 2007 after having spent more than eight years in the hospitality industry. As a restaurant manager, she was responsible for creating and implementing marketing campaigns; developing and maintaining strong customer relations, including catering to specific and ongoing needs; and acting as the company’s representative in general public relations, in business-to-business relationships, commercial organizations, and industry events. The New York Times described Ms. McDaniel as the “resident problem-solver” in an article on restaurant experiences. At National Madison, Ms. McDaniel is responsible for acting as the liaison between the firm and its outside relationships, implementing, producing and managing marketing initiatives, and assisting in prospective client matters. Ms. McDaniel is also a member of the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York, the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy, AIGA and the American Marketing Association.

Steve Zeiger

Steven Zeiger, CEBS

Mr. Zeiger provides advanced life insurance design and analysis services to clients and advisors. Formerly a Managing Director of a well-known New York City financial services firm, Mr. Zeiger is an expert in trust-owned life insurance and is a highly sought out lecturer to attorneys, CPAs, family offices, asset managers and trust officers. He specializes in training such professionals and providing access to a TOLI process endorsed by both the New York Bankers Association and the New Jersey Bankers Association. Mr. Zeiger has been selected for the National Association of Estate Planning Councils (NAEPC) Speakers Bureau. Some of his credits include interviews with the following periodicals: The New York Times, Institutional Investor, Employee Benefit News, Bloomberg Magazine and Dow Jones, publisher of The Wall Street Journal Mr. Zeiger has been published in the AICPA Wealth Management Insider, Trusts & Estates Magazine, Profit Sharing Magazine and has been a guest lecturer at NYU and an instructor at the College of Insurance.
